And of course, which time of the year will enable me to enjoy the best view? What is the best time to visit Victoria Falls?
Why is this question in South Africa? It's a looooooong drive from us.
I'd say fall. It gets extremely hot in Zimbabwe, so late summer would be ideal, February, March. December can be fun too. What is the best time to visit Victoria Falls?
The Victoria falls is best seen from the Zambia side, that said you can cross the bridge, pay a visa fee and see it from Zimbabwe too, it's only a fairly short walk. At the moment the hotel and "life" is on the Zambia side as well, used to be on the Zimbabwe side but this has been effected by the recent problems. The Zambia tourist industry is booming down on te falls and there are many choices of hotel, lodge and camp site to suit any budget.
The best time to see it in all it's glory is of course during the rainy season (allowing a month or two for the water to work it's way down to the falls) or at the end of it, so Jan - April after that the flow of water starts to decrease. In June-July the weather can get cold around Livingstone (well the whole area down there) as well, chilly nights.
This year the rains have been heavy in Southern Africa the falls will be thundering at the moment and absolutely spectacular.
Well worth seeing and hope you make it out here. What is the best time to visit Victoria Falls?
Any time is best to visit the world class Victoria Falls. Summer is the most best time.
