How far do you have to go outside of Victoria Falls to see the more representative Zimbabwe?

I understand that Victoria Falls is way different than the rest of Zimbabwe. At what point does the non-representative tourist area end the rest of Zimbabwe begins? What is the first city/town after Victoria Falls that one would see the more representative daily life of Zimbabwe? How far do you have to go outside of Victoria Falls to see the more representative Zimbabwe?
Victoria Falls lies on the border with Zambia and there is a bridge between the two countries.

You do not have to travel far out of Vic Falls to see daily life in Zimbabwe.

There are a number of resorts at Vic Falls and a golf club at Elephant Hills Resort. The Victoria Falls Hotel is not far from the falls, you can actually walk there.

The nearest region is Matabeleland where you will see daily life in Zimbabwe. There is no towns close to Vic Falls. People tend to live in regions/villages and are fairly spread out.

As you drive out of Vic Falls you pass villages.

Life in Zimbabwe is not good at the moment with some people starving. If you go there be sure to give a good tip anyone who helps you, they need it.How far do you have to go outside of Victoria Falls to see the more representative Zimbabwe?
To find true representation of the zimbabwean community go across town. About 15 or so minutes away from the glitz and glamour of the tourist destination and you will find where most of the locals live in a place called chinotimba. Visit http://allthatiszim.blogspot.com for true zim stories.

go anywhere, just like in any other country, tourist places are meant to impress tourists. the truth is Zimbabwe is not as bad as it is made out to be, the whole of Africa isn't as bad as it is made out to be. South African crime isn't as bad, the M. East isnt as bad as it is made out to be etc My point is, it depends where you are, if you go to a village in zimbabwe ur bound to find people that a considered "poor", if u were to go to the cities its a different story though, so the representative of a country is not based on one area urban or rural, its different everywhere. the country areas are just poorer than the rest.
